Terms of Use
Last updated: October 6, 2026
The short version
- DanceDay is a tool for parents. You enter your dancers, their routines, and your competition days; we help you keep track of them.
- Your data stays yours. You can delete your dancers, events, and account at any time.
- Be a good neighbor. Shared schedules and studio directories are crowd-sourced; keep them accurate and kind.
- No guarantees on timing.Running-late estimates come from other parents' reports and can be wrong. Always follow your competition's official schedule.
Who we are
DanceDay is provided by Illumination Labs. When these terms say “we” or “us,” that is who we mean. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You must be an adult to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us if you believe someone else has used it.
Information about dancers
DanceDay stores information about children because their parents or guardians enter it. By adding a dancer you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have their guardian's permission. Co-parent invitations extend that access to another adult you choose; you can revoke them at any time.
Acceptable use
Use DanceDay only for organizing your own family's dance activities. Do not upload content that is unlawful, that you do not have the right to share, or that identifies other people's children without permission. Do not attempt to access other users' data or to disrupt the service.
Content you share with your team
If you turn on “Share with the team” for a dance, its name, style, call time, and costume photos and notes are shown to other parents on the same studio team. You are responsible for what you share.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.Do not share anything offensive, sexual, hateful, harassing, or violent, or any photo of another family's child without their permission.
Any parent can report a shared dance, or block the parent who shared it, using the flag next to it. Blocking hides everything that parent shares. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these terms, and close the accounts of users who post it.
Sharing and crowd-sourced data
Public event links can be opened by anyone who has the link; dancer names and call times are removed from public shares. Studio, team, competition, and live-timing information is contributed anonymously by users and shown to other users. Contribute accurately and understand that this information is not verified by us.
Purchases
Dancers, dances, and viewing or accepting events shared with you are free. Your account's first event is free. Each event after that uses one Event Credit, unless you have an active Season Pass.
- Event Credit ($4.99)— a one-time purchase that creates one event, whatever the number of dancers or dances in it. Credits don't expire. Deleting an event does not return its credit.
- Season Pass ($19.99 a year) — unlimited events while it is active. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current year. On iPhone, payment is charged to your Apple ID; manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On the web, manage it from your Profile.
- Once an event has ended, its name and dates can no longer change, so each event stays one event.
App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under its policies. For web purchases, contact us within 14 days. Prices are in US dollars and may change; a change never affects a Season Pass you already paid for until it renews, and we'll tell you first.
Ending your use
You can stop using DanceDay and delete your data at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or that put other users at risk.
No warranties
DanceDay is provided as is. Schedules, estimates, and reminders are aids, not guarantees; the competition's own schedule always controls. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for missed performances or other losses arising from your use of the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top tells you when they last changed; continuing to use DanceDay after a change means you accept the new terms.
